Has anyone found a replacement theme that is relatively close is the way this one renders? Looking for something simple that has the main slider and feature sliders as this one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well guess what rolled in the other day…. another unnecessary Advanced Custom Fields Pro update LOL! And still not able to update…. No theme update yet either! I won’t even get into my woocommerce errors I am having.
I am done! Moving on from this theme.
To be clear I purchased Advanced Custom Fields Pro for other reasons. The only reason I really started to use this plugin is because the theme stated it was required. Not my choice!
I have paid for the ACF Pro version. When I delete I go to the wp-content folder and then then plugins folder under that via a FTP program. You will then see a folder for each one of your plugins. I delete the entire ACF Pro folder.
After that I then go to the plugin home page and I have an account since I purchased the plugin. I download it to my pc then install just like it was a brand new install.
Unfortunately, I get lots of Woocommerce errors now and this ACF Pro plugin update has NEVER worked. I am going to have to ditch this theme and go with something more mainstream / better support
I have had this exact same problem for about 2 years now. The way I get around this is to delete the plugin ACF pro using an FTP program. Once it is totally deleted, I download and reinstall the plugin. A complete PITA as I have about 6 sites I do this for because they all use this theme. The ACF plugin probably has an update about once every month at a minimum.
I spent hours with my provider (ACF said it was a server problem and rights) etc. All proved to be wrong and a waste of time…..
As far as knowing whats in an update, I guess that is all in what the developer wants to tell you. Can be a double edged sword as if it is critical well then he just let every hacker know what to hack…. All of my other plugins update just fine and I can’t spend all day every day cyphering through the details of an update.
The download permissions error is gone and 2 firmasite updates were present – installed them
The Woocommerce template error message has disappeared from the top of the dashboard as well.
The issue that still remains is that the drop down box for a t shirt is supposed to show : small, medium, large, etc. The text in the drop down is white and the background is white – so it can’t be read by the user.
Also getting this error now at the bottom of the page in the shopping area:
<b>Parse error</b>: syntax error, unexpected ‘;’ in <b>/home/kssfpe/public_html/wp-content/themes/firmasite-base/woocommerce/single-product/tabs/tabs.php</b> on line <b>43</b>
Add to cart is also missing.
Well in my opinion this is all related as the WC updates did not come thru. This has not worked for the past 2 weeks but hey I will do as you request and just post each new error as a new topic.
Ok as luck would have it – I am told my license expired for this theme now. How long is the $60 license good for?
I went ahead and purchased another license. Now when I try to add my new license to the old existing site, it will not save the API License or API email?
What is the status of this update for Woocommerce? It has been 2 weeks now and I have not been able to sell anything on these websites – this may be the straw that breaks the camels back here and I will have to move away from using this theme.
I had the same experience Frank. This theme requires ACF. Something changed with ACF and until I got ACF PRO updated on ALL sites, the update never showed. This revealed itself by a force update of the theme and then the ACF update showed. To prove that theory I did what you did, went to another theme and activated it. ACF update then showed. I installed it, Then re-activated firmasite base and then the firmasite update presented itself. I am not using a child theme tho.
It seems the major conflict was with Advanced Custom Fields Pro (which is required by the theme?) Seems those guys (ACF) wanted paid and it somehow disabled the theme update. Once I got once site updated to ACF 5.3 guess what showed up – The firmasite base theme update!
I still have this error: Your theme (FirmaSite Base) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.
2 sites using woocommerce have spots that do not work. Ie T shirt sizes are gone and can not be selected.
Ok – deleted firmasite base off one site. Used Firmasite free. Re installed the firmasite base .zip from the new file / download section of shop. 220.127.116.11 I believe. AS SOON AS I did that, I got an update notification for Advaced Custom Fields Pro. Tried to create a new web page – same result – does not work. Post still does not work
Am I the only one having this issue? Im not using a bunch of crazy plugins or anything special other than woocommerce……
I have looked all over – I dont see ANYWHERE where to “update” a theme. The only option I have is to upload the zip as a new theme. I see nothing under appearance that allows or permits a theme update manually.
I still have no update registering automatically for this theme – NO UPDATE is showing
Unfortunately, I am aware of the backup deal – I would just think this would not be an issue but it evidently is and when your managing 10 – 15 different sites with different themes – it turns into a pain real quick.
