Thanks for the quick response and great support.
I don’t think the problem is with apple/safari. I experience the same problem in Firefox and Chrome when reducing the window width so that the sidebar drops down. As soon as that happens the links on the blog archive/ home page (i.e. “Continue Reading” etc.) are no longer clickable. On my mobile phone I can still access it with taphold and also on Internet Explorer (funny) but not on Firefox and Chrome. When I expand the window to full screen the “Continue reading” and other meta links as well as navigation links are clickable again. I’ve even made a fresh WordPress install with no plugins running other than your Enhanced Firmasite with the same result here: http://test.tradersalert.me/
I note that this website i.e. http://theme.firmasite.com/ does not suffer from this problem. I can use the “Continue reading” etc. links on your website on my mobile and with narrow Chrome and Firefox browser windows – just my sites suffer. Must be hosting issue then. These are hosted on Hostgator with
<table class=”truncate-table” id=”stats_extended” width=”100%” cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″>
<td class=”stats_left”>Apache version</td>
<td class=”stats_right” title=”2.2.23″>2.2.23</td>
<td class=”stats_left”>PHP version</td>
<td class=”stats_right” title=”5.2.17″>5.2.17</td>
Please help! I really REALLY want to use your theme and submit it for your showcase but I can’t without resolving this issue.
I have already looked at your posts on child themes. However I was more interested in adding a few elements to the actual posts so I just created my own child theme.
I have a new problem/ issue though. I notice that when switching to a narrow view (i.e. on mobile devices) the “continue reading” and other post links as well as the navigation turns into tap-and-hold links to enable conventional right clicking functions (like bookmark, copy link etc.) on the mobile device. I’d prefer to use normal single tap/click for my users so they can gain easy access to the content straight away. Is there an easy way to achieve this? Either CSS or .php change I can probably do.
Your help and support is much appreciated. I will gladly “buy you a coffee” when my project is making money.
