- Promotion Content Strips Heading and List CSS Display
I am setting up the promotion feature. The text I enter on the pages I am promoting is stripped of Heading and List attributions when displaying on pages. Is there a restriction to simple text for this feature?
Thank you, Matoca
I am sorry, I don’t think I explained this well.
The text I am entering, that is to show up in the promotion bar, is stripped of attributes.
For instance on one page I have written this:
<h4>Hemopet Resources:</h4> <ul> <li>Blood Bank</li> <li>Consultation Form</li> <li>Test Forms</li> <li>Hypothyroidism</li> <li>Clotting Disorders</li> </ul>
This is what firebug is showing for the html, a simple paragraph tag:
<p>Hemopet Resources: Blood Bank Consultation Form Test Forms Hypothyroidism Clotting Disorders</p>
So in the promotion bar it appears as a run-on sentence with no structure. This should appear as a text teaser of the content that I am promoting with a heading and an unordered list.
The page content is shortcode that links to a Media Grid page. There is no other content on the page than the promotion text. Using “more” would not be possible as there is nothing more on the page.
[mediagrid cat="25" title_under="1"]
I am asking if I can use headings and unordered lists on the page so they will display in the promotion bar, If so I how do I write the html so as to keep the heading and unordered lists tags.
Thank you, Patrice
I was not able to use html markup in the promotion bar. However after searching with Firebug I was able to find this section of CSS:
/* promotionbar */ .carousel-mini .panel-body
In Customize I added CSS to change the text to white and added a CSS generated variegated background to style it a bit. It’s not exactly what I wanted but it will work.
I have two more questions about styling the promotion bar.
I noticed that the Promotion Bar is not responsive below 750 pixels and it drops out on phone and tablet displays. Could you point me to where the promotion bar CSS is, or provide me with that CSS so I can adjust the responsive range? Most of my users are on cell phones or tablets and so they miss out on this important promotion bar.
Also, the dropdown Share menu gets cut off below the first row of share buttons on desktop displays. I found the HTML for this but am not sure how to adjust the drop down height so that Google+ and LinkedIn share buttons are visible.
<div class="sharing-hidden"> <div class="inner" style="left: 30.8px; top: 191.2px; display: block;"> <ul> <li class="share-email share-service-visible"> <li class="share-print"> <li class="share-end"></li> <li class="share-facebook"> <li class="share-twitter">
Thank you, Matoca
I hope you can help me again with the promotion bar. I am having some problems getting a few pages to show in it. I have troubleshooted to my level of ability.
Here is the first page in question:
This page contains the glossary called AIHA Terms. What makes this the glossary page is indicating the title AIHA Terms in the Tooltip plugin settings in the dashboard.
I have made a short sentence at the top of the page to show up in the promotion bar, just as I have with other pages. I have checked the star next to the page indicating add to promotion bar. I removed all the share buttons at the top of the page.
I even just tried to add a “more” tag without success. No matter what I try to adjust it won’t show up. I have a cleared my local browser cache and refreshed the page many times. In addition I have a cache clearing plugin installed that is very active at noticing page changes.
Thank you, Matoca
I couldnt understand full but let me try:
You didnt mention but using TooltipProPlus26July2014 named plugin for tooltips and it has problem with promotion bar?
I think plugin probably only affects to inside content. I mean inside your article.. not sidebars or promotion bar.
